The first of the 2017 Championships is the Fours Championship. The first two rounds have been completed and have seen the "tall poppies" chopped down to ground level as all the top grade skips have been toppled by supposedly lower grade skips. The draw and progressive results/comments can be found in the Latest News section. The final between the teams skipped by R. Cousins and B. Pettit has been delayed due to extreme weather and to District committments.
The Handicap Triples and Mixed Fours Championship are both being played as evening round robin events this year to assist both the Mens and Ladies clubs with valuable 2 bowl pennant practice. The rounds were played in very warm and muggy conditions with many close matches between evenly balanced teams. See the Latest News for draws and results. The Mixed Fours Final will be between the teams of Robbins and Barnett on Thursday Feb. 23rd.
Pennants is drawing closer with skills development training occurring each Friday afternoon between 2 and 5.30 pm depending on the broad grading selections shown on the noticeboard. The first trial is Saturday February 5th. An all day round robin is planned for Grades 1 and 4 against Kempsey Heights, Kew and Port City while grade 7 will play in the afternoon against Kempsey Heights and the 5's will battle it out against each other in an internal trial for side selection.
